Jacob speaks difficult truth, harsh consequences and profound blessings over his sons and the future generations of each tribe. As a spouse, parent or employee/employer don’t miss the powerful stories of God’s redemptive work among Jacob and his sons and how our sinful past can be forgiven and restored through the work of Jesus. Listen to Pastor JC’s sermon from Genesis 49, Jacob’s Last Words Part II, and be encouraged to find rest in the promises of God’s Word!
The Supernatural Power of a Father’s Blessing
Jacob Speaks According to God’s Will
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
“A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Life is Found in an Eternal Relationship with Jesus
“Jacob did not yield up the ghost [his spirit] until he had delivered the last sentence of admonition and benediction to his twelve sons. He was immortal till his work was done. So long as God had another sentence to speak by him, death could not paralyze his tongue.”
