Feb 5, 2023Genesis 29:1-30 – Jacob in the MirrorSeries: GenesisIn Genesis 29 - Jacob in the Mirror, we learn that without Godly character we turn God's blessings into a mess! Jacob, the son of Isaac, falls in love with Rachel and in spite of his seven years of labor is swindled in the final moment of betrothal. Jacob, the deceiver, comes face to face with his own character deficiencies as God teaches him that the currency of God's Kingdom is selflessness. We often serve out of compulsion and selfishness, but as you listen to Pastor Dave's powerful message from Genesis 29 - Jacob in the Mirror, you will learn the value and power of serving others in love!GOD SOVEREIGNLY PROVIDES ALL WE NEED AND MOREWHEN THE MOTIVE IS LOVE SERVING OTHERS IS A JOY"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Jan 29, 2023Genesis 28:10-22 – Jacob, God Builds a ManSeries: GenesisGenesis 28:10-22 - Jacob, God Builds a Man, shows us the lengths God goes through to build His leaders. Despite Jacob’s God-fearing family, a relationship with God was not automatic. In this sermon we see how God reaches out individually to Jacob through a dream to establish a personal relationship with him. Jacob envisions a ladder coming down from heaven in his dream, where angels are going up and down the ladder. God personally comforts Jacob as He recounts the covenant promise he gave to Abraham and Isaac. In Genesis 28:10-22 - Jacob, God Builds a Man, we see how patient God is with Jacob as he still does not fully understand God plan for his life. The same is true for us today. Our salvation does not occur by being raised in the church, attending youth group, knowing Bible stories, or having parents or a spouse with great faith. We are saved through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jacob is Tired and Weary
God Speaks To The Humble and BrokenBut He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE; Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Jan 15, 2023Genesis 27:1-33 – Spiritual ImpostersSeries: GenesisGenesis 27:1-33 - Spiritual Imposters, teaches us about the detrimental effect of man’s lack of spiritual leadership in his family. Isaac had ignored God’s instruction to him about which one of his sons he was to pass on the family’s spiritual blessings. Esau was Isaac’s favorite son, a manly man, but he was not the son God had chosen. Isaac’s sin of not following God’s instruction promotes dysfunction in his family. His wife Rebekah and son Jacob fall into the trap of becoming spiritual Imposters as they try to receive the spiritual blessing through their own craftiness and deception. Genesis 27:1-33 – Spiritual Imposters, show us an example of what lengths we, like Jacob will go to, pretending to be someone we are not.REAL CHARACTER is who we are when no one else is watching"Oh LORD, You have searched me and known me. Matthew 28:19-20, (NKJV) https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/mat/28/19-20/s_957019The Apostle Paul wrote: "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Nov 20, 2022Genesis 25 – A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS SpiritSeries: GenesisGenesis 25 - A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit, God reveals, through the birth of Jacob and Esau, amazing insights into the ongoing struggle of our fleshly, carnal desires that fight against the godly desires of the Spirit. We see that many people today are completely controlled by their bodily appetites (food, drink, greed, lust, sex, pride, etc.). However, contrary to popular opinion, our lives are not to be controlled by the desires of our sinful flesh. God commands us to be responsible in our actions. If you've ever struggled with wanting to do what is right but felt puled by your flesh in the wrong direction this study is for you. As Abraham comes to the end of his life, the Covenant God made with him is passed on to Isaac. Isaac and Rebekah have twin sons, Jacob and Esau. This chronic battle is revealed in the lives of Jacob and Esau in many ways, even from conception the two boys wrestle in the womb. Listen to this teaching from Pastor David Menard to find victory in the battle of the flesh vs. the Spirit. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Like Abraham, many Christians experience extensive periods of waiting on the Lord that result in doubt, fear and even an attempt to take matters into your own hands. Genesis 21:1-14 - The Faithfulness of God, Pastor David's message reveals the certainty of God's promises not by your own effort, but instead by faith.Take comfort in the faithfulness of GodThis is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. John warns his readers to be ready for His return and to watch out for the deceptive work of Satan through antichrist messages. Antichrist means instead of Jesus and it is the Holy Spirit who equips us to discern the truth of God's Word versus false narratives peddled in our government systems, social norms and even in the church. Don't miss this Sunday's message in 1 John 2:18-3:3 focused on The Father's Love, which gives us confidence that we are His children and He is preparing us to experience the fullness of His glory!1 John 2:18-3:3 - The Father's LoveAntichrist = Instead of Jesus“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.Matthew 24:23-24 (NKJV), https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/mat/24/23-24/s_953023We can only Identify antichrist propaganda by abiding in Jesus's WordI marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. - Aug 14, 20221 John 1-2 – The Assurance of Knowing Jesus
Aug 14, 20221 John 1-2 – The Assurance of Knowing JesusBy: Pastor JC CooperSeries: TopicalIn 1 John 1-2, The Assurance of Knowing Jesus, John expresses the perfect character of God as the initiating truth in our relationship with Jesus. Our merit, self righteousness and hard work can never earn God's favor because He has chosen us to be in relationship with Him through the blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all sin. Like a child in a trusting relationship with a loving dad, we obey God's Word as a loving response to His love for us. Therefore, we confess our sins knowing that repentance assures us of our relationship with Jesus who is faithful and just to forgive us. Listen to Sunday's message from 1 John 1-2, The Assurance of Knowing Jesus, and be encouraged that we can be assured of our salvation!
1 John 1-2 - The Assurance of Knowing Jesus God’s Will & Character Never Leads You into SinEven so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.Matthew 7:17-20 (NKJV), https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/mat/7/17-20/s_936017We Deceive Ourselves when we Justify/Excuse Our Sin Perpetual Repentance is the Fruit of a Relationship with JesusThis is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NKJV), https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/2ti/2/11-13/s_1127011God Desires for You to Lead a life Without SinGod showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.1 John 4:9-10 (NLT), https://www.blueletterbible.org/nlt/1jo/4/9-10/s_1163009How do we Know we Know Jesus?- We confess His Initiating Love for us

Aug 7, 20221 John 1:1-4 – The Transmission of JoyBy: Pastor JC CooperSeries: TopicalIn 1 John 1:1-4 - The Transmission of Joy, John the apostle testifies to the vital importance of an abiding relationship with Jesus. John self-identified as "the disciple whom Jesus loved" and according to the Scriptures, our highest calling in life is fellowship with God, which brings us the fullness of joy. A genuine relationship with Jesus is not found in going to church, being a good person or being religious in rules and regulations. A real relationship with Jesus begins with God's love for us and our joyful response of obedience to His Word. In 1 John 1:1-4 - The Transmission of Joy, we are called to be the disciple whom Jesus loves as we joyfully abide in relationship with Him and others. 1 John 1:1-4 - The Transmission of Joy Since the Beginning God Has Been and is Pursuing a Relationship with you How Can I be Certain God desires a Relationship with Me? Jesus is:
- The Creator
- Eternal
- God in the flesh
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8 ,(NKJV) https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rev/1/8/s_1168008 “For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.” 2 Peter 1:16-18, (NKJV) https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/2pe/1/16-18/s_1157016 A Relationship with Jesus is the Only way to Eternal Life “The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent His own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4, (NLT) https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/8/3-4/s_1054003 Our Highest Calling is Fellowship with God “If you love Me, obey My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me. Since I live, you also will live. When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you. Those who accept My commandments and obey them are the ones who love Me. And because they love Me, My Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal Myself to each of them.” John 14:15-21, (NLT) https://www.blueletterbible.org/nlt/jhn/14/15-21/s_1011015 A Transformed Life in Jesus Transmits Joy for Jesus “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
