Genesis 27-28 - The Danger of Vain Religion
Genesis 27:34-28:9 – The Danger of Vain Religion
Series: Genesis
Genesis 27:34-28:9 - The Danger of Vain Religion.  The Bible says, “God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.” Yet Esau, like many today, desired to receive God's blessings without ever seeking to know God. What does God do when we come seeking His rich blessings but are not actually seeking Him? To find out, enjoy this powerful message from Pastor David Menard, in Genesis 27 that reveals the heart of God, and The Danger of Vain Religion.

ESAU MOURNS HIS LOSS OF GOD’S BLESSINGS BUT HAS NO DESIRE TO KNOW GOD

"Watch out for the Esau syndrome: trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite. You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God’s blessing - but by then it was too late, tears or no tears."
Hebrews 12:16–17, (The Message)     https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2012%3A16-17&version=MSG

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM GOD?

Genesis 27-28 - The Danger of Vain Religion

"I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

"I, GOD, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be."

"The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."

"O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it. You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart. These, O God, You will not despise." Psalm 51:15-17, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/51/15-17/s_529015

"Jesus answered them and said, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.'” John 6:26, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jhn/6/26/s_1003026

ESAU HATES HIS BROTHER

"He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes."
1 John 2:9-11, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/1jo/2/9-11/s_1161009

VENGEANCE belongs to the Lord

"‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.'"

    Genesis 27 - Spiritual Imposters
    Genesis 27:1-33 – Spiritual Imposters
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 27:1-33 - Spiritual Imposters, teaches us about the detrimental effect of man’s lack of spiritual leadership in his family. Isaac had ignored God’s instruction to him about which one of his sons he was to pass on the family’s spiritual blessings. Esau was Isaac’s favorite son, a manly man, but he was not the son God had chosen. Isaac’s sin of not following God’s instruction promotes dysfunction in his family. His wife Rebekah and son Jacob fall into the trap of becoming spiritual Imposters as they try to receive the spiritual blessing through their own craftiness and deception. Genesis 27:1-33 – Spiritual Imposters, show us an example of what lengths we, like Jacob will go to, pretending to be someone we are not.

REAL CHARACTER is who we are when no one else is watching

"Oh LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether." Psalm 139:1-4, (NKJV)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/139/1-4/s_617001

Isaac QUIT LEADING HIS FAMILY in his old age

    Men, your family
    NEEDS YOUR LEADERSHIP

If a man fails to lead
HIS OWN WALK WITH GOD IS ADVERSELY AFFECTED

God may not remove temptation but
HE ALWAYS GIVES US A WAY OUT

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man. But God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation (God) will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
    1 Corinthians 10:13, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/1co/10/13/s_1072013

THE MORE WE SIN THE MORE WE SIN

    Genesis 27 - Spiritual Imposters

Jacob attempts to gain a SPIRITUAL BLESSING by pretending to be someone he’s not

BEING AN IMPOSTER IS TOXIC TO OUR SOUL

RIGHTEOUSNESS can only be received as A GIFT FROM JESUS

For all (of us) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness.
    Romans 3:23-25, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/3/23-25/s_1049023

"Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law."
    Romans 3:27-28, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/3/27-28/s_1049027

"Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God’s way. For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

Genesis 26 - How God Leads
Genesis 26:1-14 – How God Leads
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 26:1-14 - How God Leads. How we react to problems and trials reveals a lot about who we are. Isaac was faced with a difficult event in his life. He had the choice to obey God's voice or to try and deal with the issue in his own way. Like Isaac, we are prone to search for a quick fix or rely on our own abilities when facing trials and hardship. Listen to an insightful message from Pastor David Menard and learn the truth in Genesis 26:1-14 about How God Leads you through trying circumstances.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit."
    Jeremiah 17:7-8, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jer/17/7-8/s_762007

'Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.”'

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice, from that time forward, even forever. Matthew 1-2 – The Omnipotent King And His Kingdom Eternal
Matthew 1-2, The Omnipotent King And His Kingdom Eternal, the birth of Jesus is the beginning of the greatest event in human history. 2000 years later multitudes across the world still celebrate His birth. But what are we celebrating? The Bible reveals that this event was the birth of the final King of the earth. Yet for most, Jesus is not seen as King, and His Kingdom remains an enigma. This message in Matthew 1-2, examines The Omnipotent King and His Kingdom Eternal.

Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed."

Genesis 25 - A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit
Genesis 25 – A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 25 - A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit, God reveals, through the birth of Jacob and Esau, amazing insights into the ongoing struggle of our fleshly, carnal desires that fight against the godly desires of the Spirit.  We see that many people today are completely controlled by their bodily appetites (food, drink, greed, lust, sex, pride, etc.). However, contrary to popular opinion, our lives are not to be controlled by the desires of our sinful flesh. God commands us to be responsible in our actions. If you've ever struggled with wanting to do what is right but felt puled by your flesh in the wrong direction this study is for you. As Abraham comes to the end of his life, the Covenant God made with him is passed on to Isaac. Isaac and Rebekah have twin sons, Jacob and Esau.  This chronic battle is revealed in the lives of Jacob and Esau in many ways, even from conception the two boys wrestle in the womb. Listen to this teaching from Pastor David Menard to find victory in the battle of the flesh vs. the Spirit. Genesis 25 - A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.  By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.  Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

    Series: Genesis
Genesis 24 - A Bride for the King (Part 2) shows God's pursuing love for you, evident in the romantic story of Isaac and Rebekah. If you've ever wondered what it means to be Spirit-led and how to discern between counterfeit holy spirits and the real deal, listen to Sunday's message by Pastor David Menard. Genesis 24 - A Bride for a King (Part 2), will lead you to a practical understanding of the Holy Spirit's design to lead you to Jesus.

    Series: Genesis
In Genesis 22:1-14 - The Father's Anguish, why would God ask Abraham to sacrifice his only son whom he loves? Walking a mile in someone's shoes or seeing from a different perspective can transform our way of thinking and understanding! Don't miss a powerful message from Pastor David pointing to the immeasurable depths of God's love for you and the hope found in the death and resurrection of Jesus. Genesis 22:1-14 - The Father's Anguish reveals God's provision not only for Abraham, but for a world in need of a living sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.

"He (Jesus) is despised and rejected by men. ...and we did not esteem Him. Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded (profaned, defiled) for our transgressions, He was bruised (crushed) for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

Genesis 21 - The Faithfulness of God
Genesis 21:1-14 – The Faithfulness of God
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 21:1-14 - The Faithfulness of God, Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years into their old age to have a child and for God to fulfill His promise. Despite Sarah being menopausal and Abraham being 100 years old, God's promise comes true and Isaac is born! Like Abraham, many Christians experience extensive periods of waiting on the Lord that result in doubt, fear and even an attempt to take matters into your own hands. Genesis 21:1-14 - The Faithfulness of God, Pastor David's message reveals the certainty of God's promises not by your own effort, but instead by faith.

Take comfort in the faithfulness of God
This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure (hardship / trials), we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful (to judge us), He cannot deny Himself.

Genesis 21 - The Faithfulness of God
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
    Hebrews 5:12-14, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/5/12-14/s_1138012

GOD’S PROMISES CAN ONLY BE RECEIVED BY FAITH
THEY CANNOT BE EARNED BY HUMAN EFFORT

For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman (was born) through (God’s) promise, which things are symbolic.
    Galatians 4:22-23, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/gal/4/22-23/s_1095022

But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman." So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. The compounding effects of sin can lead to significant dysfunction in marriage and relationships. It all began with a male spiritual leadership as Abram chose the easier path and capitulated on the truth of God's Word. Waiting on God is not easy when we are stressed and afraid, but in Genesis 15 - Abrahamic Covenant (Part 2), the Good News of Jesus provides comfort and assurance now and in the future, for ages to come!  The Abrahamic Covenant - Part II, Genesis 15  Contents of the Abrahamic Covenant

Genesis 14:17-24 – Melchizedek – King of Righteousness
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 14:17-24 - Melchizedek - King of Righteousness shows us that this king who seems to come out of nowhere is really a precursor to Jesus. Abram has just rescued his nephew Lot along with all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah. The King of Sodom and Melchizedek the King of Salem want to meet with Abram and they both offer something to him. Genesis 14:17-24 - Melchizedek - King of Righteousness reveals that Abram has finally found freedom in walking in God’s ways by how he responds to both kings. Genesis 14 - Melchizedek - King of Righteousness Abram Would Not Allow Anything From Sodom and Gomorrah to Come into His Life / Home Abram Sanctifies Himself to God
The Apostle Paul wrote:  “Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.” Romans 6:16, (NLT)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nlt/rom/6/16/s_1052016

Moses wrote this passage:  “It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites. And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes, that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.” Deuteronomy 17:18-20, (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/deu/17/18-20/s_170018

In the book of Hebrews is says:   “...the forerunner has entered (heaven) for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated ‘king of righteousness,’ and then also king of Salem, meaning ‘king of peace,’ without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.” Hebrews 6:20-7:3, (NKJV)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/6/20-7/s_1139020

‘“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." Then they took up stones to throw at Him.’ John 8:56-59, (NKJV)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jhn/8/56-59/s_1005056

The Levitical Priesthood Was a Weak and Unprofitable Religious System
In the book of Hebrews is says:  “a different Priest, like Melchizedek, has appeared. 16 Jesus became a Priest, not by meeting the physical requirement of belonging to the tribe of Levi, but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed. 17 And the psalmist pointed this out when he prophesied, "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." 18 Yes, the old requirement about the priesthood was set aside because it was weak and useless. 19 For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. 20 This new system was established with a solemn oath. Aaron's descendants became priests without such an oath, 21 but there was an oath regarding Jesus. For God said to him, "The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: 'You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.’” “ Hebrews 7:15-21, (NLT)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/7/15-21/s_1140015

Genesis 13 - Finding Intimacy with God
Genesis 13 – Finding Intimacy with God
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 13 - Finding Intimacy with God shows us that now Abram realizes the cause and the cost of losing his intimacy with God. Like Abraham, we can feel distanced in our relationship with Jesus because of our own sin or even the difficult circumstances we face within our own family. God has made a way for us to return to a place of genuine faith, gratitude and a hunger for God's Word. Listen to this week's message in Genesis 13 and learn how the Bible leads, guides and directs us back to a place of finding Intimacy with God and how to deal with family conflict.
LOST INTIMACY WITH GOD? RETURN TO THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR
A Place of GENUINE FAITH IN JESUS A Place of GRATITUDE & WORSHIP A Place where we HUNGER TO KNOW GOD’S WORD

Genesis 13 - Finding Intimacy with God

In the book of Acts is says: "Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and He will send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah."
    Acts 3:19-20, (NLT)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nlt/act/3/19-20/s_1021019

HOW TO DEAL WITH FAMILY CONFLICT
    1) TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO RESOLVE THE DISPUTE 2) BE WILLING TO GIVE AWAY WHAT YOU DESERVE 3) PUT FAMILY HEALTH ABOVE YOUR DESIRES

It was our weaknesses He carried; it was our (sin) sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins! But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on Him(self) the sins of us all.

LOT - AN ARCHITYPE OF THE HALF-HEARTED BELIEVER
    1) PROFESSES FAITH IN GOD – BUT IS CONTROLLED BY HIS FLESH 2) HAS ONE FOOT IN THE KINGDOM / WORLD 3) LACKS GOOD FRUIT IN HIS LIFE
The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth:  "Each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire." 1 Corinthians 3:8-15,( NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/1co/3/8-15/s_1065008

IF WE HAVE NOT LEARNED TO DO - WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY SHOWN US – GOD WILL WAIT TO GIVE US OUR NEXT INSTRUCTION

BUT WHEN WE DO WHAT GOD HAS SHOWN US - GOD REVEALS MORE OF HIMSELF TO US

Jesus said:  "To those who listen to My teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them."

    Genesis 12 - Abram's Lapse of Faith
    Genesis 12 – Abram’s Lapse of Faith
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 12 - Abram's Lapse of Faith is a reminder that we all stumble in unbelief, but God's blessings come to us by His grace and not our merit. Everyone knows and experiences that life is hard! It's easy to blame God for suffering and hardship, but as a we grow in knowing God's person we see that He is building our character and trust in Him through trials and pain. It's temping to do what is right in our own eyes and according to our own ways, and like Abram God calls you to grow in faith. Pastor Dave's message in Genesis 12 - Abram's Lapse of Faith is an encouraging lesson teaching us that God loves you even when you fail.

    The Skeptic’s Say:

If God is good, He would wish to end all suffering and hardship. If God is Almighty, He would be able to do what he wished. But suffering and hardship exist. Therefore, God lacks either goodness, or power, or both.

    The Anonymous POEM

When God wants to drill a man, And thrill a man, And skill a man When God wants to mold a man To play the noblest part; When He yearns with all His heart To create so great and bold a man That all the world shall be amazed, Watch His methods, watch His ways! How He ruthlessly perfects Whom He royally elects! How He hammers him and hurts him, – Anonymous And with mighty blows converts him Into trial shapes of clay which Only God understands. While his tortured heart is crying And he lifts beseeching hands! How He bends but never breaks When his good He undertakes. How He uses whom He chooses, And which every purpose fuses him; By every act induces him To try His splendor out- God knows what He’s about.

But Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, "Lord, will You slay a righteous nation also? Did he not say to me, 'She is my sister'? And she, even she herself said, 'He is my brother.' In the integrity of my heart and innocence of my hands I have done this." And God said to him in a dream, "Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. Genesis 12 – Abrahamic Covenant (Part 1)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 12 - The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 1) teaches us that God's covenant promises are always fulfilled. God calls Abram a sinful pagan man to follow Him not because Abram is better than others, but because God has a purpose for his life. This promised covenant from God means we can trust God has a purpose for our lives just like Abraham! Pastor Dave's message explains God's covenant with Abraham, how it relates to Israel and why God's covenant points us to Jesus today! Genesis 12 - The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 1) reveals that God's plans for your life are bigger than you can ever dream. The Apostle Paul wrote: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. 4 He (God) chose us in Him (Jesus) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." GOD’S PROMISES ARE SO RICH – THEY STAGGER OUR IMAGINATION

    Genesis 12 - The Abrahamic Covenant (Part1)

In the book of Joshua it says "Thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Your fathers, including Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of the river (Euphrates) in old times; and they served other gods." Joshua 24:2, (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jos/24/2/s_211002

In the book of Acts the disciple Stephen tells us: "The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, BEFORE HE DWELT IN HARAN, and said to him, 'Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.' Then he (Abram) came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there, when his father was dead, he moved him to this land in which you now dwell. " Acts 7:2-4, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/act/7/2-4/s_1025002
WHAT IS GOD’S PURPOSE FOR MAKING THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT? 1) TO MAKE ISRAEL GOD’S OWN SPECIAL PEOPLE 2) TO REVEAL THE ONE TRUE GOD TO ALL NATIONS 3) TO BRING JESUS, THE SAVIOR OF MANKIND, INTO THE WORLD The CONTENTS of the Abrahamic COVENANT 1) A PERMANENT HOMELAND (Israel) 2) A GREAT NATION / PEOPLE (Jews) 3) PERSONAL BLESSING AND GREATNESS (Abram / Jews) 4) DIVINE PROTECTION (Against Anti-Semitism) 5) DIVINE BLESSING UPON ALL NATIONS (Jesus)
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

Genesis 11 – The Tower of Babel
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 11 - The Tower of Babel reveals that the sinful nature of man was not removed after the flood.  We know that the ancient Babylonians were not a barbaric society, in fact they were quite advanced in many areas of science and agriculture and they were able to advance quite rapidly because the world had only one language.  Genesis 11 - The Tower of Babel is man's first attempt at a one world government.  It is also the beginning of the false religions.  It was sinful, corrupt and it's leader "Nimrod" rebelled against God.

What was the purpose of the Tower of Babel?

Nimrod – King of Babel – Genesis 10

Ancient Jewish Targum says: “He (Nimrod) was powerful in hunting and in wickedness before the Lord, for he was a hunter of the sons of men, and he said to them, “Depart from the judgment of the Lord, and adhere to the judgment of Nimrod!” Therefore it is said: “As Nimrod the strong one, strong in hunting, and in wickedness before the Lord."

Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1)
Genesis 6-8 – The Flood of Noah (Part 1)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1), God proves through a global flood that He does bring judgment and punishes people for their sin. Does it ever seem like wicked people and evil continues to prosper unpunished in our world? Don't be fooled! God is patient and desires for mankind to repent of their evil ways, but He is not slow to fulfill His promises. Just like in the days of Noah it is important for us to understand we must be watchful for the return of Jesus before He shuts the door to salvation just as He shut the door to the Ark. Listen to a powerful message on the veracity of the global flood that took the world by surprise. Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1) is not some mythological or allegorical story; it is the foreshadowing of the day of reckoning for all mankind. The Flood of Noah - Genesis 6 THE FLOOD PROVES GOD DOES PUNISH PEOPLE FOR THEIR SIN
The Apostle Peter wrote: “Knowing this first, that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, (and by the word of God) the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. The heavens and the earth, which are now preserved by the same word (of God), are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:3-12, (NKJV)      https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/2pe/3/3-12/s_1159003

Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1)

Dr. Henry M Morris said: “The ark could’ve carried as many as 125,000 sheep-sized animals. Since there are not more than about 25,000 species of land animals known (that is mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians), either living or extinct, and since the average size of such animals is certainly much less than that of a sheep, it is obvious that all the animals could easily have been stored in less than half the capacity of Noah’s ark, each pair inappropriate rooms.”
Noah proclaimed God’s truth in a hostile culture By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Hebrews 11:7, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/11/7/s_1144007 Genesis 7

Genesis 5 -6 - The Days of Noah
Genesis 5-6 – The Days of Noah
    Series: Genesis

Genesis 5 - 6 - The Days of Noah, provides valuable insight into why our world is filled with so much corruption and violence at every level of humanity. Have you ever been hurt, offended or cheated and wondered why is the world evil? How could perfect creation digress into such chaos and perversion? God's Word teaches that mankind has a sin nature, which means no amount of human effort, showing up to church or doing good deeds can possibly reform our flesh. The Bible also reveals that since the beginning Satan has been trying to destroy the lineage of the Messiah by corrupting the human race. Genesis 5 - 6 - The Days of Noah is an eye-opening message that unpacks exactly when God's flood of judgment happened. It shows us just how corrupt the earth was when the flood came and how similar the corruption level is in the time we now live just like The days of Noah.

Earth is already filled with VIOLENCE

    Why is the world EVIL?

    Man has a sin nature

Our only hope is to be Born Again in Jesus

Genesis 5 -6 - The Days of Noah

In the book of Jude is says: “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own
abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the
judgment of the great day; (even) as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities
around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to
sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example,
suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
    Jude 1:6-7, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jde/1/6-7/s_1167006

As it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be when Jesus returns. Matthew 24:37

The Apostle Paul wrote: “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch
what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you
shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
    2 Corinthians 6:17-18, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/2co/6/17-18/s_1084017

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before
Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God.
    Hebrews 12:1-2, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/12/1-2/s_1145001

Even in judgment, God’s saving grace is also at work – Genesis 5

By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not
found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken, he had this
    testimony, that he pleased God.

    What happens when we die?

King Solomon wrote: “I have seen the God-given tasks with which the sons of men are to be occupied. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart. Ecclesiastes 3:10-11, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/ecc/3/10-11/s_662010

The concrete evidence of JESUS RESURRECTION

1 Corinthians 15 - The Power of Jesus

WHY SHOULD I MAKE JESUS LORD OF MY LIFE?

    1) HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS.

He was wounded (pierced) for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, every one, to his own way, and the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:5-6, (NKJV)  https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/isa/53/5-6/s_732005

    2) His life, death, and resurrection were foretold in the Bible

In the Book of Psalms is says: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire. ...Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, "Behold, I come. In the scroll of the book it is written of Me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within My heart." I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness to the great congregation.” Psalm 40:6-9, (NKJV)

Then He (Jesus) said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
    Luke 24:25-27, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/40/6-9/s_518006

    3) He rose from the dead alive

The Apostle Paul wrote: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

    Matthew 26 – Good Friday
    Series: Easter 2022
Matthew 26 - Good Friday introduces us to the "Passion Week of Jesus Christ," demonstrating the depths of Jesus' love for us and what he was willing to endure to restore us to a right relationship with God.  In this message we will be looking at passages from each of the four gospels, getting a full picture of what Jesus accomplished during this Passion Week of His ministry.  The Jewish religious leaders who are seeking to kill Jesus are aided by Judas one of Jesus' disciples who betrays Him for thirty pieces of silver.  Matthew 26 - Good Friday illustrates the reason we are commanded to partake in communion and to remember what Jesus did on the cross for us.

The Prophet Daniel wrote: “I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One, like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought (presented) Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away. And His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/dan/7/13-14/s_857013
